Providing, to me, means making something available to someone else, giving and availing.
Many of us enjoy partaking in the enjoyment of things we did not build, does not feed and refuse to invest in. We like to "drink the milk without buying the cow". I believe that is a dangerous road that we sometimes travel far too often. Only what we water grows. And only where we water should we expect to feed from, otherwise it is stealing, in my humble opinion.
Sometimes I hear people complain about having access to things they have no ownership in and I am amazed. Because you go to the store and they let you in to buy something, doesn't mean you are owed something. Do not confuse access and exchange for ownership. Love isn't so different. People expect to be loved where they have little or no investment. Do you sometimes expect care form people who when you really think about it, you have no care for? Like the grocery store clerk?
When I speak about providing, let me be clear, I am not talking about money. I am talking about contributing to the well-being of another, the one you say you love. Many of us only know how to love the dead. Try loving someone who is alive, who requires self sacrifice.
to make (something) available : to supply (something that is wanted or needed) : to give something wanted or needed to (someone or something) : to supply (someone or something) with something.
Love is... providing.
